Arugula is a peppery distinctive-tasting green. People also sometimes call it rucola, salad rocket, and Italian cress.

Arugula is extremely easy to grow. Anyone can have a bountiful harvest!

As soon as the soil is warm enough to work after the snow melts, plant a row of arugula. Then a few weeks later, plant another. Then you will never run out of arugula!

Arugula doesn't fancy the heat! Please give it some shade or bringing it indoors during the summer heat. Arugula can be replanted when the summer starts to cool, so you have it for your fall and winter garden.

To harvest arugula:

  1. Pinch or cut the leaves just above the soil.

  2. Try not to harvest more than about 1/3 of the outer leaves at once.

  3. Leave the rest to grow.
